About John’s Crazy Socks:
John’s Crazy Socks is an online store founded by a father-son team. John is 28 years old and has Down syndrome. He has long loved wearing fun socks, or what he calls, his crazy socks. As Johns says, “they let me be me.” John suggested in November 2016 that he and his father open a store selling socks. They opened their store in December 2016 and received a positive response! They’ve built their business on four pillars:
- Empowering people and showing what’s possible: John is the face of the business and every day they demonstrate that there are no limits to what he and others with special needs can accomplish. Also, over half of their associates have differing abilities!
- Giving back: They donate 5% of their earnings to Special Olympics and raise money for their charity partners through their Awareness and Charity Socks.
- Helping people find products they love: They offer over 4,000 different products and have a Sock of the Month Club, a Monday Madness Mystery Bag and many gift boxes and gift bags.
- Making it personal: They do same day shipping, and every package includes a thank you note from John and some candy.
